BREANA BARRERA
Breana es Coordinadora Bilingüe de Cuidados para Hospice of Santa Barbara donde trabaja con el equipo de Servicios de Cuidado al Paciente (PCS) para facilitar la más alta calidad de servicios de atención y apoyo a pacientes y a sus familias. Nació en Santa Bárbara y en 2013 se fue a estudiar a la Universidad de Pittsburgh donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas y una maestría en Desarrollo Internacional de Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Antes de trabajar con HSB, Breana trabajó en Allegheny County Department of Human Services- Immigrants and Internationals Initiative. Su trabajo era ayudar a achicar la brecha en los servicios ofrecidos a la creciente población de inmigrantes y refugiados. Habla español con fluidez, es competente en portugés y siempre le ha apasionado descubrir y encontrar soluciones para remover los obstáculos que existen entre personas que hablan idiomas diferentes. Esta pasión fue lo que la llevó a unirse a MVMV. En su tiempo libre, a Breana le gusta cocinar, caminar y explorar los Parques Nacionales con su novio.
Breana is a Care Coordinator with Hospice of Santa Barbara with the Patient Care Services (PCS) team where she provides support to facilitate the highest quality of care for patients and their families. A Santa Barbara native, Breana left in 2013 to attend the University of Pittsburgh where she obtained a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters of International Development from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to working with HSB, Breana worked with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services- Immigrants and Internationals Initiative. Her role was to assist in bridging the gaps in services provided for the growing immigrant and refugee population. She is fluent in Spanish, Proficient in Brazilian Portuguese and has always had a passion for bridging disconnects due to language barriers, which is what attracted her to MVMV. In her free time Breana enjoys cooking, hiking and exploring the National Parks with her fiance whenever possible.
